Attorneys and students gathering at the most
recent VABANC law student-attorney mixer on September 8, 2005 enjoyed
the remarkable bay views from the offices of Duane Morris LLP, high
above the Financial District of San Francisco.
With approximately 40 law students and attorneys
in attendance, this was the largest attorney-student mixer VABANC has
held yet. The students, from Bay Area law schools such as Golden Gate
University, Hastings, Boalt, University of San Francisco, and Santa
Clara University, were excited to see such a large gathering of other
Vietnamese-Americans in the legal profession.
The attending attorneys included Minh Hoang
(Duane Morris), Courtney Nguyen (Cooley Godward), Cindy
Nguyen (Liner, Yankelevitz, Sunshine & Regenstreif), Vilaska
Nguyen (San Francisco Public Defender office), Bao Nguyen
(Kirkland & Ellis), Steve Ngo (Minami, Lew & Tamaki), Willie
Nguyen (Legal Aid Society of San Francisco), Tyler Vu (San
Francisco Public Defender office), Hien Doan (Law Offices of
Hien D. Doan), Margie To (Genentech), Long Do (San
Francisco District Attorney office), Thi Do (Yahoo), and Anh
(“AT”) Quach (Risk Management Solutions).
VABANC is grateful for the generosity of the
Duane Morris law firm in offering its beautiful office for the event
and providing sumptuous refreshments. Attorneys practicing in a
variety of fields and law students from a diverse backgrounds mingled
late into the evening, with the Bay Bridge in the background.
