Free Legal Information Clinics

With Volunteer Attorneys

Vietnamese speaking attorneys, law students, and translators are among the volunteers who will be assisting in giving free general legal information regarding the following areas:

•Divorce/Family Law • Domestic Violence/Restraining Orders • Bankruptcy • Business Disputes

• Consumer issues • Employment Problems • Workers' Compensation • Tax Litigation

• Immigration • Public Benefits (SSI, SSDI, etc) • Criminal Law • Tenant/Landlord

The volunteer attorneys have agreed to give free general legal information but cannot individually represent clients on issues consulted. The Oakland legal clinic is a collaboration between Volunteer Legal Services Corp. (VLSC) and VABANC. The San Jose clinics are a collaboration between VABANC and the Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center, with assistance from the Vietnamese American Law Students (VALS) at Santa Clara University, School of Law.
